Jan Price - 30 years younger?

Jan Price

Our own Jan Price from Aberaman near Aberdare is proof that bellydancing keeps you young and beautiful in a "10 years younger" feature in today's Western Mail (31 October).

Interviewed for the women's supplement WM, 67-year-old Jan says her wardrobe would suit someone 25 to 30 years younger, let alone 10 years.

She says the key is to know your limits and find the right balance.

"There's a definite line between dressing younger and dressing tarty," says Jan.

"Sometimes you have to realise that you can't wear something. It's about being honest with yourself."

Jan's fashion tips - don't wear short skirts, anything too low or too tight, and don't wear too much jewellery.

A Night in Tunisia at Cafe Jazz

Anyone remember our Arabesq bellydance nights at Cafe Jazz in Cardiff? Look out for a one off event I'm hosting there on Thursday 30 November.

A Night in Tunisia will feature live musicians on the oud, drums, me doing my DJ thang, and hopefully a Moroccan folk singer of my acquaintance.

There'll also be a chance for three or four solo bellydance performances, and freestyle dancing at the end of the night.

If anyone's keen to do a solo performance, let me know - we'll probably have the first dance around 9.30pm and others after 10pm in case you're coming from a class that evening.

And if you know any suitable musicians who can do a short solo spot, ask them to email andy @ arabesq.co.uk or phone me on 07970 343841.
