Natacha Atlas at the Hay Festival


World music superstar Natacha Atlas will be performing at the Hay Festival in Powys on Thursday 3 June.

Well known for her fusion of North African and Arabic themes with western dance and classical music, she'll be appearing on the Guardian Stage at 7.30pm.

June 13th - 'Wild Treasure'. Lucia Zahara Italian dancer and performer will be coming to Ceredigion to teach Egyptian Ghawazee with sagat and Italian Pizzica Trance Dance. Over The Rainbow, Nr Cardigan. 10.30 - 12.30 & 1.30- 3.30pm. Discount when both workshops are booked.

July 3rd - Sponsored Shimmy for Sunshine Orphange in Luxor. 3pm Letterston Memorial Hall.Pembs. Plus Shabi and Sharqi workshops with Imman Mussa and Circus skills with Pyro Pyxies. 11.30 - 1.30pm - Shabi 3.30 - 5.30 - Sharqi. Circus 11.30 - 1.30pm Family fun day with raffle and refreshments.

HipSynch Bazaar at the Road to Morocco Hafla

Bellydance classes in Herefordshire


General Level Bellydance classes are starting in Herefordshire's Golden Valley with JWAAD tutor Abbie Mason aka Alanya.

Suitable for complete beginners or those with some experience.

American Tribal classes in Swansea


Heley Phillips is starting a new class in American Tribal Style Belly Dance fundamentals on the 18th May 2010 at the Life Health & Fitness Centre, Castell Close, Swansea Enterprise Park, Swansea.

"I had the fantastic opportunity to spend most of 2008 in San Francisco training with the legendary American Tribal Style Troupe Fat Chance Belly Dance with intention of gaining the knowledge in correct format of this dance to bring it back to South Wales," says Heley.

"American Tribal Style Belly Dance has evolved form both Egyptian Cabaret, North African Folkloric dances and has stylistic influences from Spanish Flamenco and the dances of India and celebrates the female form, and unity and connection of women dancing together."
