Bellydance history and workshop - August 14

Fiora is holding a lecture on the history of bellydance and a holistic bellydance workshop on Saturday 14 August at the Gaia Studio, Roath, Cardiff.

The lecture and slideshow runs from 11am till midday and looks the ancient roots of bellydance, how it survived in different countries, how it was reinvented and how it has evolved into different styles.

That's followed in the afternoon with a holistic bellydance workshop from 1 till 3pm, offering tips on how to use dance for releasing stress and negative emotions. It's inspired by traditional bellydance moves, the North African trance dances Zaar and Guedra, the Arabic-Iraqi Khaleegi, holistic therapies and elements of Kundalini yoga.

The lecture costs £6 if paid by 4th August or £8 afterwards, while the workshop costs £15 before 4 August or £18 afterwards. You can attend both for £20 if you pay before 4 August.
