Rachel has a message for everyone who came to her hafla in Rogerstone on December 2nd:

"A big thank you to all who supported me with my first hafla. What a night!

"Thank you all for your wonderful choreographies and for supporting the charity raffle which raised £130.

"I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!"

Michelle Pender Tribal Workshop - Jan 20


Michelle Pender will be holding a Tribal Workshop in Newport on Saturday 20th January.

It takes place from 1 till 3pm at the Beaufort Centre, Beaufort Road, St Julians, Newport NP19 7PD.

The workshop costs £17 - her Whirling Dervish Bazaar will also be open for business.

Jawahir's January Hafla


Newport-based Jawahir Middle Eastern dance group invite you to their hafla on Sunday 21 January.

It features Michelle Pender's Whirling Dervish Belly/Tribal Dancing Bazaar, DJ Andy Roberts, performances and free dancing, a raffle, buffet and bar.

The Djabot African Drummers have also been added to the list of attractions.

It takes place at Whitehead's Sports and Social Club, Park View, Bassaleg NP10 8LA from 5pm till 10.30pm.

Tickets are £5 - children admitted free if accompanied by an adult.
